About Me

Helping organisations see what their dashboards don't.

I've spent over twenty years leading software engineering teams at organisations including Citibank, UL Inc, PTC, ESW, and others, growing teams of up to 110 engineers across multiple sites including Dublin and Madrid. The same question followed me through every role: why do talented teams underperform?

The answer was never capability. It was behaviour — the signals visible in how people communicate, make decisions, and respond under pressure.

The IMIRT Framework

The IMIRT framework grew out of discussions with a work colleague, Kieran Neeson, now co-founder of IMIRT, for tracking those signals and predicting delivery outcomes before they happened. It brings behavioural metrics into the same conversations where we track velocity and uptime — because behaviour is the leading indicator that those numbers follow.

The Book

The First Red is the story of what happens when you hand that system to a retired coach with a notebook and a point to prove. It's a leadership novel — fiction that makes the argument narratively, because some ideas land better as stories.

Today

I work as a Fractional CTO for companies including Breadly and BeWell Health, bringing senior technical leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire. I also deliver behavioural consultancy using the IMIRT framework for organisations ready to look beyond their dashboards.

I live in Dublin, Ireland.
